Witches

In these readings, I get to know the witch called Faith,  in where we can see her life in the comic. We can see how she learned about witches and magic with her female teacher who is dressed like a nun. This comic for me was confusing because of how the story started by telling another story of a witch called Ursula, and how they got to burn her. I really like the color palette that the comic has, because you can see a lot of purple color in the comic. I honestly think that this story could be more organized because for me, it was confusing first reading about the marriage and then reading about Faith's childhood. Adding the teacher of Faith to the story was very interesting, because we can see how Faith learns witchcraft and the influence that she gives to Faith. Faith's teacher was the representation of her mother. Witches were one of the first female representations in horror, and when we read or watch a movie about witches, we see a female with power and magic. Witches

Hobbit

I liked this book a lot because it does not have the typical hero  that you can  find  in the movie or books. Bilbo, a person who at first looks scared cowardly, manages to help the dwarves and take them to the sacred mountain. In the book, Bilbo's personality is growing and becoming more solid. In the end, he returns to his region after an unexpected trip, with a treasure of a trip and experiences with the dwarves. The book tells how Bilbo Baggins, a hobbit who lives in a region enjoys the comfort of his home, but embarks on an adventure with a company of magician Gandalf. He convinces him to leave his home with some dwarves in search of the ancient kingdom of Dwarves Erebor and Solitary Mountain. There lies a Dragon that does not allow anyone to enter. In the book, several adventures are covered, the dwarves and Bilbo must overcome different challenges. Among the different adventures, Bilbo finds a magic ring that will be the beginning of the trilogy of the Lord of the Rings.

Annihilation Jeff Vandermeer

It is a futuristic science fiction book and is part of a trilogy. In the very beginning we are invaded by a sensation of fear of the unknown, because of the information that the biologist offers us. The first book is called "Annihilation", which takes place in Area X: a distant, hidden, and unknown place declared an environmental disaster area many years ago. This area has been devastated by pollution, cloning, and radiation. This area has no contact with the outside, and access is prohibited. State agency Southern Reach has sent several expeditions that have failed. By suicide of its members, they have gone mad in the last expedition, which gives us doubts about the mission itself.  This is the twelth expedition that is sent after 2 years, and 4 women are a biologist, an anthropologist, a psychologist, and a surveyor-- the biologist being the one to narrate the book. Her husband participated in the previous expedition and returned without any memory of what had happened t

The mirror and the bell

The reading of  The Mirror and the Bell  makes me reflect on negative emotions such as fear, anguish, anger, and jealousy that keep a person in a state of suffering because he does not release them. These emotions are represented in the story of the reading by the farmer's wife's mirror. For the farmer's wife, the mirror represented the tradition of her family. Her attachment to that tradition did not let her go to make a bell. The process of replacing the mirrors with the bell is important. The life is a mirror that shows us our attachments like money and people, that help us progress. We must seek to detach ourselves and find emotions of generosity, of help, and that seek a common good. This is present in the story, by the community who was very happy to collaborate with the bell, and how generously they detached themselves from their mirrors. These feelings of guilt of donating the family mirror, led the farmer's wife to take her own life and cursed the bell, so
